Francisco Conceição Seals Permanent Move to Juventus in Multi-Million Euro Deal

Juventus have completed the permanent signing of Portuguese winger Francisco “Chico” Conceição from Porto. The deal, worth over €30 million, will be paid in four installments. This confirms Conceição’s future in Turin after an impressive loan spell last season, where he played 40 games, scored seven goals, and made six assists.

WHAT HAPPENED?

All parties finalized the transfer as Conceição agreed to give up around 20% of the deal’s value, a key condition for the transfer to be completed. Porto will receive a fee in excess of €30 million, split over four years. There were no last-minute complications as Juventus received all signed documents from the player, finalizing the deal ahead of any deadline. According to reports, Juventus negotiated to pay €25-27 million for Francisco Conceição.

CONCEIÇÃO’S IMPACT AND TEAM SITUATION

Conceição quickly became a regular starter, using his pace and creativity to bolster Juventus’s attack. His contributions were especially vital with the team finishing fourth in Serie A last season, trailing Inter Milan, Atalanta and champions Napoli. Juventus secured a Champions League spot by finishing fourth and will hope his permanent arrival helps close the gap to Napoli, who topped the 2024/25 Serie A table, and maintain their spot ahead of fifth-placed AS Roma.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR JUVENTUS AND PORTO

Juventus have strengthened their squad for the new season by securing a young, dynamic talent who rejected interest from Everton to remain in Turin. Porto, meanwhile, lose a promising winger, but benefit from the significant transfer fee, which could help them reinforce their own squad after finishing third in the 2024/25 Primeira Liga. Juventus’s next test comes against Parma, who finished sixth last season, as they look to start the campaign strongly and compete hard at home and in Europe.
