Federico Bernardeschi Returns to Serie A, Joins Bologna on Free Transfer

WHAT HAPPENED?

Bernardeschi, who is 31 years old, has signed with Bologna after leaving Toronto FC this summer. He joined Bologna as a free agent, as confirmed by reports. The club announced that Bernardeschi has signed a permanent deal until 2027. Bernardeschi was last seen in Serie A in 2022, before moving to Major League Soccer. He played in Toronto for 88 league matches and scored 25 goals, but his contract, which was due to end in 2026, was mutually ended after he left Toronto FC.

Bernardeschi is known for being versatile and skillful with the ball. He can play as a winger, attacking midfielder, or outside midfielder.
