AC Milan Weigh Signing Marc Pubill as Wolves Press for Deal

AC Milan are set to make a big decision about Spanish right-back Marc Pubill after successful medical tests. Wolves want to sign him quickly, but Pubill is waiting for Milan before choosing.

WHAT HAPPENED?

AC Milan and Almeria are talking about Marc Pubill‘s transfer after he passed medical tests. Milan worried about his fitness because he failed Atalanta’s medical due to a knee issue in August 2024. Yet, recent tests in Barcelona reassured Milan’s medical team, making the transfer easier. Wolves have made a strong offer and are ahead, but Pubill waits for Milan’s move. The deal might be around €15 million, but Almeria wants a bit more due to a payout for Levante.

PLAYER AND TEAM PERFORMANCE THIS SEASON

Marc Pubill played well for Almeria in the 2024-25 Segunda Division, with 36 games, one goal, and four assists. Still, Almeria didn’t reach La Liga promotion. Pubill’s performance made him Spain’s U21 starting right-back. For Milan, they need a player: Kyle Walker and Davide Calabria are out, and Emerson Royal is not favored. Milan lacks right-backs for preseason. Wolves, finishing 16th in the Premier League, aim to replace Nelson Semedo after his contract ended.

WHAT NEXT FOR PUBILL AND AC MILAN?

Milan could decide soon, feeling okay with Pubill’s fitness. If they accept Almeria’s demands, Pubill might start and fix Milan’s defense gap. Yet, if Milan delays, Wolves are ready to finalize the transfer. Milan’s next preseason game is against AS Roma, and Wolves face Manchester City soon in the Premier League. Both want Pubill ready for the season kickoff.
