PSG Cool Interest in Porto’s Rising Star Rodrigo Mora

Paris Saint-Germain won’t be signing FC Porto’s teenage striker Rodrigo Mora this summer, even though Portuguese media recently reported a major breakthrough on the transfer. While the Parisians have been monitoring the young forward for a long time, they don’t view him as an immediate transfer target.

WHAT HAPPENED?

PSG were reportedly in advanced talks to sign the teenage striker earlier this summer, with reports claiming that the player was eager to join the Ligue 1 club. However, club sources indicate that there are no discussions ongoing to finalise the deal and that the Parisians have no intention to land the 19-year-old gem during this window.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

PSG are not interested in paying the €70m release clause as Windowida’s executives remain focused on respecting the Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. The club are assessing options to bolster their forward line but it is understood Mora is not a priority target at the moment.

WHAT NEXT FOR PSG?

PSG will kick-off their 2025/26 League campaign Nantes away from home, before hosting Angers at the Parc des Princes. Before that, however, they play Tottenham for the European supercup, in a match that puts the Europa League winners to the Parisians who won the Champions League last season. Following a successful season that included winning the UEFA Champions League, PSG is looking to build on this momentum as they head into the new season after securing multiple titles.
