Dan Ndoye Signs for Nottingham Forest in €40 Million Move

Nottingham Forest have signed Swiss forward Dan Ndoye from Bologna for €40 million plus up to €5 million in bonuses. Ndoye’s contract runs until June 2030, with an option to extend that could keep him at the club until June 2031, as confirmed in a recent report.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Dan Ndoye, 24, has joined Nottingham Forest after a great season with Bologna, where he scored nine goals and provided six assists in 41 matches. He was key in winning the Coppa Italia last season, which was Bologna’s first major trophy in over 50 years. Forest beat other clubs, including Napoli, to sign him. Fans expect to see him debut in the Premier League on August 17 against Brentford.

WHY FOREST MADE THIS MOVE

Last season, Nottingham Forest surprised many by finishing 7th in the Premier League, which earned them a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League for the 2025/26 season. Ndoye is Forest’s third summer signing and is seen as a replacement for Anthony Elanga, who moved to Newcastle United for £55 million. The Swiss international, who has 22 caps and performed impressively at Euro 2024, brings speed and experience to a squad being rebuilt for both domestic and European competition.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR FOREST AND NDOYE?

Forest kick off the Premier League season against Brentford, who finished 12th last season. With Ndoye in the team, Forest hopes to improve their attack and climb the table, aiming to compete in Europe. Ndoye is expected to play immediately, and fans are excited to see if he can replicate his impressive performances from Bologna.
