Bologna See Opening Bid For Wesley Gassova Rejected By Al Nassr

Bologna want to sign Brazilian winger Wesley Gassova from Al Nassr. They made an initial offer, but the Saudi club turned it down. Negotiations are continuing, and Bologna are expected to make a new bid soon.

BOLOGNA SEEK REPLACEMENT AFTER NDOYE EXIT

Bologna are keen to replace Dan Ndoye, who has joined Nottingham Forest for €40 million, as previously reported. Ndoye played a major part in their Coppa Italia win last season. His departure means Bologna have a gap to fill in attack. The Serie A side need to replace a key player and are focusing on Gassova to do so.

WESLEY GASSOVA’S IMPACT AND BACKGROUND

Gassova moved to Al Nassr from Corinthians for €18 million in August 2024. He only made 22 appearances in Saudi Arabia, scoring once and registering three assists. He also made a name for himself in his home country and has nine caps for Brazil U20s.

WHAT’S AT STAKE FOR BOLOGNA AND AL NASSR?

Bologna need to replace Ndoye as the new Serie A season is just around the corner. They begin 2024/25 against Roma, who finished 5th in the league last term. Bologna secured a Europa League spot after winning the Coppa Italia last season. Al Nassr, meanwhile, finished third in the Saudi Pro League last season and aim to challenge for the title again. Both clubs would need attacking reinforcements if a deal goes through, but negotiations remain ongoing for now.
