Atalanta Reject Big-Money Offer from Inter Milan for Ademola Lookman

Atalanta have turned down Inter Milan’s big-money offer for Ademola Lookman, showing they want to keep him for the Serie A season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Inter Milan offered €40 million plus €3 million in add-ons for Lookman. Atalanta quickly refused, saying he is not for sale at that price. Reports say they want close to €44 million ($53 million), making Inter’s bid too low as revealed in a recent report.

LOOKMAN’S SEASON SO FAR

Ademola Lookman has been crucial for Atalanta, delivering standout performances throughout the 2024-25 Serie A campaign. The Nigerian forward scored 13 goals and provided 8 assists in 31 league appearances, making him one of the team’s top contributors according to recent updates. His efforts have helped Atalanta secure third place in Serie A, qualifying for the Champions League next season once again. Inter, meanwhile, finished second in the table, just two points adrift of leaders Napoli and seven points ahead of Atalanta.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR ATALANTA AND INTER?

Inter Milan must decide whether to raise their offer or find other targets. Atalanta hope keeping Lookman will make him happy, but he recently removed all mentions of the team from his social media as reported earlier.

Both teams have important matches coming up. Their Serie A campaigns will start soon, and both teams have title ambitions with new coaches, as the season gets underway in 2 weeks time.
