Charlotte FC Sign Harry Toffolo on Three-Year Deal

Charlotte FC have signed English left back Harry Toffolo on a three-year contract. This adds Premier League experience to their defense.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Harry Toffolo, 29, agreed to terms and is in Charlotte for medical tests. He left Nottingham Forest as a free agent last season. Toffolo was linked to West Brom and Leicester City but chose Major League Soccer with Charlotte FC. He will be announced soon, helping Dean Smith’s team in the MLS Eastern Conference.

WHY THIS TRANSFER MATTERS

Toffolo has played in the Premier League and Championship, offering experience. At Nottingham Forest, he made important plays, like a key clearance against Tottenham. His leadership and defense can help Charlotte FC’s gaps. Under Dean Smith, they are mid-table, struggling with defense. Toffolo is key to improving for playoffs in the second half of the season.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CHARLOTTE FC?

After medicals, Toffolo will join training. Charlotte FC face FC Cincinnati, strong Eastern Conference opponents, next in MLS. Only two points separate Charlotte from playoffs, so each match matters. Toffolo may soon play, helping the team finish strong this season. Fans are eager to see if the English defender adapts quickly to MLS.
