Armando Broja Seals Permanent Move to Burnley as Chelsea Continue Summer Overhaul

Armando Broja is set to join Burnley on a permanent transfer from Chelsea. This marks another departure in a busy summer at Stamford Bridge. The Albanian striker is leaving after a challenging time with injuries and limited game time. Chelsea continue to make several changes to their squad.

BROJA STARTS NEW CHAPTER AT BURNLEY

Burnley have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the permanent signing of Armando Broja. The 23-year-old forward will undergo a medical at Turf Moor before finalising his move to the promoted Premier League side. Broja spent last season on loan at Everton, where he made 10 Premier League appearances. His progress at Chelsea was hampered by an ACL injury in late 2022, which limited his impact and development with the Blues. Now Burnley are adding a young striker with Premier League experience as they aim to strengthen their attack for the new season.

CHELSEA SHAKE UP FORWARD LINE

Broja’s exit follows other departures from Chelsea, including Marc Guiu’s loan move to Sunderland and João Félix’s transfer to Al Nassr. The club is not finished with its overhaul as attackers Christopher Nkunku and Raheem Sterling are both expected to leave this summer. Chelsea have already signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to boost competition up front alongside Nicolas Jackson, whose own future is reportedly not yet settled. This transfer activity is part of an active transfer window for Chelsea, who have already made several attacking signings.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR BROJA, BURNLEY AND CHELSEA?

Broja will be expected to compete for minutes immediately at Burnley as they look to secure their Premier League status after promotion. Burnley’s first match of the season is at home against Tottenham, with both teams aiming to have a strong start of the season to get closer to their goals for the campaign. Chelsea, meanwhile, continue their summer rebuild and will open their campaign against Crystal Palace on August 17, aiming to improve on last season’s 4th place finish. With more transfer activity anticipated, Chelsea’s attack could look very different by the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
