David Møller Wolfe Signs for Wolves on Five-Year Deal
Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Norwegian left-back David Møller Wolfe from AZ Alkmaar. The 23-year-old has agreed to a contract until 2030, becoming the club’s third major addition this summer. Reports confirm that Wolfe will join as a direct replacement for Rayan Ait-Nouri, who has departed the club.
WOLFE ARRIVES AT MOLINEUX
David Møller Wolfe joins Wolves after two strong seasons at AZ Alkmaar. The deal is worth a reported £10 million. Wolfe made 92 appearances for AZ, scoring four goals and providing six assists last season. He was an important part of an AZ defence which kept eight clean sheets, and he had the third-most tackles in the squad. Wolfe said: “I give a lot of energy to the team and I always do my best to help the team… I think I have the qualities to play in the Premier League and to deliver and to perform.” A previous report confirmed Wolfe’s signing as he moves to the Premier League.
WHY THIS TRANSFER MATTERS
Wolfe’s arrival reinforces Wolves’ left flank after the departures and injuries suffered in the last season. The 6ft 1in Norwegian international, who has played 12 times and scored once for Norway, will team up with compatriot Jorgen Strand Larsen. Wolves finished 16th in the 2024-25 Premier League season, and are aiming to strengthen key positions for head coach Vitor Pereira. Wolfe joins Fer Lopez and Jhon Arias as the club’s key summer signings. This transfer marks a significant step in enhancing the squad.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR WOLVES AND WOLFE?
Wolfe could make his club debut as soon as 3 August in a pre-season friendly against Girona. Wolves start their Premier League season at home against 3rd placed team from last season Manchester City on 16 August. City are one of the season’s contenders to win the title, while Wolves are expected to fight to not be relegated. Wolfe’s energy and attacking play are expected to quickly earn him a regular place in the team, with Wolves pushing for a higher league position in the new season. As the season approaches, the team is looking to improve from last year’s performance.
