Ademola Lookman Submits Transfer Request, Seeks Atalanta Exit

Ademola Lookman has officially asked to leave Atalanta. The Nigerian forward said he wants to find a “solution for all parties” after broken promises from the club leadership.

Lookman confirmed in a statement that he has asked Atalanta to let him leave after several months of “poor treatment towards me as both a human being and as a professional footballer” and “broken promises” from the club. He claims there had been an understanding with Atalanta’s management that he would be allowed to leave this summer if a fair offer arrived. Lookman said an appropriate offer had come in, but the club was now blocking his move despite their earlier agreement. Reports indicate that Inter Milan made two bids for Lookman, offering €40 million first, then €45 million including add-ons; both of which Atalanta rejected.
