Everton Close to Securing Dewsbury-Hall as Dibling Talks Continue
Everton are moving quickly to strengthen their squad. They are close to signing Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall before the start of the Premier League season and still pushing to bring Southampton’s Tyler Dibling to Merseyside.
EVERTON PUSH FOR DEWSBURY-HALL
Everton have made significant progress in their pursuit of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Several bids were rejected but the Toffees have now agreed a fee with Chelsea to sign the midfielder. Dewsbury-Hall joined Chelsea last summer but made just 258 Premier League minutes during the last campaign despite making 36 appearances in all competitions. At his best, Dewsbury-Hall is a dynamic and intelligent midfielder but the England international does not appear to fully fit Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, as Chelsea continue to make several changes to their squad.
DEWSBURY-HALL TO BRING FRESH ENERGY
Broadly speaking, the 26-year-old midfielder is expected to provide Everton boss David Moyes with energy and composure in possession. The Toffees endured an inconsistent campaign last term, finishing 13th in the Premier League, and they are determined to add depth to their mid-table squad before the new campaign begins. Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival at Goodison Park could just be the first step in a series of moves. The Blues want to shore up their midfield to play a more possession-based game.
EVERTON TARGET DIBLING AS TALKS CONTINUE
Everton are still in negotiations with Southampton for winger Tyler Dibling. They have already had two bids turned down, but are keen to persist in their pursuit of the youngster. Conversely, the Saints are in no hurry to let the 19-year-old leave without finding his market value. Everton is preparing a bigger offer for Tyler Dibling, as reports indicate a new offer is on the way. Everton’s first Premier League game will be against Leeds United at Goodison Park on August 17, which will throw up a difficult test for the Toffees. Their squad lacks quality, but maybe signings like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Tyler Dibling could make a difference.
