Hajduk Split have approached Almería for defender Edgar Gonzalez. They want a loan with a buy option. It’s now up to Gonzalez to decide as talks continue.

NEGOTIATIONS UNDERWAY BETWEEN HAJDUK SPLIT AND ALMERÍA

Hajduk Split wants to strengthen their defense and have contacted Almería for 28-year-old defender Edgar. The plan is to take him on loan with an option to buy. This gives Hajduk time to evaluate him before making a permanent decision. Talks between the clubs are still ongoing, but the final move depends on Edgar’s decision.

WHO IS EDGAR GONZALEZ?

Edgar Gonzalez, born in 1997 near Barcelona, is a tall centre-back, standing 192 cm tall. He is known for his versatility and can also play as a defensive midfielder. Edgar came through the Espanyol youth academy and gained experience in Spain’s lower leagues with UE Cornellà. He joined Real Betis in 2018, starting with the reserve side and making his La Liga debut for the first team. Most recently, he was a regular starter for Almería in the Spanish Segunda Division.

HAJDUK SPLIT’S CHALLENGES IN THE NEW SEASON

Hajduk Split face a challenging season after finishing outside the top two last year. Adding Edgar Gonzalez could strengthen their defense, which conceded crucial goals in key matches. Signing an experienced player like Edgar could be important for Hajduk’s ambitions of closing that gap and returning to title contention.
