Álvaro Morata Set for Como Switch After Three-Club Agreement

Álvaro Morata is close to joining Como in Serie A, following a deal with Galatasaray and AC Milan. The forward is set to move on loan, with a requirement to buy.

WHAT HAPPENED?

After long talks, Como, AC Milan, and Galatasaray agreed on Morata’s transfer. Como will pay Galatasaray around €3 million plus bonuses to end his loan early. Milan will receive approximately €12 million. The total fee will be between €15 and €16 million. Morata was on loan at Galatasaray from Milan, where he scored 13 goals and assisted seven times in 41 appearances. All sides have now agreed to terms, allowing the deal to be completed and Morata to join Como for the new Serie A season.

A COMPLEX SEASON FOR ALL SIDES

Morata joined Milan last summer after a release clause was activated at Atletico Madrid. He struggled to impress and was loaned to Galatasaray in February. At Galatasaray, he made an immediate impact but his importance will decrease after the arrival of Osimhen to the current Süper Lig champions after a permanent transfer from Napoli. Como are preparing for Serie A after promotion last season, led by their boss Cesc Fabregas. The club aims to stay up and build around experienced players like Morata. Milan ended eighth in Serie A, failing to qualify for the Champions League but are in a rebuilding phase after Morata’s limited impact.

WHAT COMES NEXT FOR MORATA AND COMO?

Morata is expected to start pre-season immediately with Como after the final paperwork is completed. The club’s first Serie A match is against Cremonese, who is back into the Serie A after being promoted form Italy’s second tier, posing a tough test for the newly promoted side. Como will aim to reach the European spots and establish themselves in the upper tier. They are currently focusing on key signings to strengthen their squad, with Morata’s proven record in Italy—where he scored regularly in Serie A for Juventus—providing optimism. He hopes to spark a stable and successful season for Como in Europe’s toughest leagues.
