Benjamin Šeško Set for Manchester United Medical Ahead of Major Transfer
Benjamin Šeško is set to have his medical exam at Manchester United. The Slovenian striker has agreed on personal terms with the club until 2030 and could be revealed at Old Trafford tomorrow, according to reports confirming the agreement.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Manchester United have agreed a transfer for Benjamin Šeško with RB Leipzig. United will pay €76.5 million (£66.3 million) plus €8.5 million (£7.3 million) in add-ons, making a total of €85 million. Šeško, 22, has agreed to personal terms and can travel to Manchester for his medical. Newcastle United were also interested, having made a €90 million bid, but reports indicate that Šeško, preferring to play at Old Trafford, chose United over Newcastle.
ŠEŠKO’S IMPACT AND UNITED’S AMBITIONS
Šeško scored 21 goals in 39 games for Leipzig last season and was their top scorer. He impressed with his pace, strength, and scoring ability. The attacking trio of Šeško, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo will help manager Ruben Amorim guide United back into the top four and Champions League football.
WHAT COMES NEXT?
Šeško will complete his medical in the morning and will be presented to fans tomorrow at Old Trafford. His debut could be in United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal next weekend as Manchester United are aiming for European competition after finishing 15h last season. With new talent up front, they’re ready to reduce the gap and return to European competition.
