Paris Saint-Germain Win UEFA Super Cup In Dramatic Comeback Against Tottenham
Paris Saint-Germain won the UEFA Super Cup by beating Tottenham Hotspur on penalties. It was an exciting match with PSG showing incredible strength to come back.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Tottenham were winning 2-0 in the second half. Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero scored, putting Spurs in control. But PSG didn’t give up. Lee Kang-in scored to make it 2-1, then Gonçalo Ramos scored to make it 2-2, taking the match to penalties. PSG won the shootout 4-3 after Nuno Mendes scored the winning penalty. PSG coach Luis Enrique admitted they were lucky to win, while Tottenham deserved more. As per reports, Donnarumma was left out of PSG’s UEFA Super Cup squad.

This win is another success in PSG’s wonderful year. They recently won the UEFA Champions League as part of a historic quadruple, giving them a spot in the Super Cup. They have been brilliant throughout the season, with players like Lee Kang-in and Ramos performing well. PSG won Ligue 1 last season and start as favorites again. Tottenham reached the Super Cup by winning the Europa League. Both teams proved they are among Europe’s best.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR PSG AND TOTTENHAM?
PSG will now return to Ligue 1 and play Nantes for the season opener. Tottenham, on the other hand, will face a tough test as they prepare to play newly-promoted Burnley next. Both PSG and Spurs are in strong situations domestically, but they will want to go on and win the league this season. The Super Cup result has boosted PSG’s chances of ending the season with a trophy in hand. Although it was not an easy win, they will take confidence from their victory against Spurs and hope to finish the year strong.
