Fenerbahçe Set to Land Kerem Aktürkoğlu From Benfica

Fenerbahçe is about to sign Turkish winger Kerem Aktürkoğlu from Benfica. All sides have agreed, and the player is expected in Istanbul after Benfica’s next game.

TRANSFER AGREEMENT REACHED

Fenerbahçe and Benfica have agreed on Aktürkoğlu’s transfer terms. Fenerbahçe will reportedly pay between €20 million and €25 million for the 26-year-old winger, with additional bonuses included. Aktürkoğlu is expected in Istanbul after Benfica’s game against Estrela on August 16. He will sign his contract and be revealed as a new Fenerbahçe player then.

In his first season with Benfica, Aktürkoğlu played in 54 games, scored 16 goals, and recorded 12 assists in all competitions. He became a key player in their attack.

KEREM’S RISE AND IMPACT

Aktürkoğlu moved to Benfica from Galatasaray last summer for €12 million and adapted quickly to Portuguese football. He contributed significantly to Benfica’s efforts, helping the team finish second in the Primeira Liga and reach the Champions League qualifiers. However, they missed the title after competing closely with Sporting CP.

For Fenerbahçe, Aktürkoğlu’s arrival adds depth to their attack as they aim for the Turkish Süper Lig title. They narrowly missed it last season to Galatasaray and are determined to reclaim the league championship.

LOOKING AHEAD: FIXTURES AND EXPECTATIONS

Fenerbahçe is preparing for the Champions League play-off round against Benfica. Aktürkoğlu won’t play against his former club due to UEFA rules. In the league, Fenerbahçe haven’t started their league campaign yet, and are set to face Benfica for a spot in the Champions League group stage. They face an important game against mid-table Goztepe next.

Aktürkoğlu is expected to boost Fenerbahçe’s attack, while Benfica will try to replace a player who became important to their goals in just one year. Fenerbahçe aims to close the gap on Galatasaray and strengthen their squad in their pursuit of the league title.
