Toby Collyer Set For West Bromwich Loan Move From Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer is about to move on loan to West Bromwich Albion for the 2025/26 season.

A deal between the two clubs is close, meaning Collyer is nearing a chance to get more first-team opportunities in the Championship.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Collyer arrived at United from Brighton in 2022 but has struggled to become a first-team regular.

The 21-year-old has been in advanced negotiations with West Brom, who are close to securing a loan move for him.

There are just a few more details to arrange, and he should be able to make the move soon.

Collyer has had limited chances to impress at United, as he has to compete for minutes at the club and coped with injuries last year.

TEAM AND PLAYER FORM

United finished 15th in the Premier League last season, missing out on a place in Europe. Collyer mostly appeared in Premier League 2, making 19 appearances for the Under-21s and registering three assists. He is yet to debut for the first team. After finishing fifth in the Championship last term and losing in the semi-final of the play-offs, West Brom are targeting promotion this year. Their midfield has been solid but manager Carlos Corberán wants to add more energy and depth. They will strengthen their squad with Collyer ahead of facing Wolves and Ipswich in the cup and league respectively.

WHAT NEXT FOR COLLYER AND WEST BROM?

Collyer will have an important role to play in West Brom’s midfield this year. Not only will he get plenty of playing time, but he will add impressive technical ability and work ethic. Collyer, meanwhile, could return to United at the end of the campaign and fight for a regular place in the first-team squad under Ruben Amorim should the loan spell be a success. He and West Brom will aim to hit the ground running once the loan move is confirmed.
