Joan García and Marcus Rashford Cleared to Play for Barcelona

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that Joan García and Marcus Rashford are officially registered and can play in the next match. This decision comes at an important time for the club this season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Laporta announced that Joan García and Marcus Rashford are now registered and eligible for Barcelona‘s next game. García, a goalkeeper signed from Espanyol for €25 million, was waiting for registration approval after a long process. As per a recent update, Joan García will be available for Barcelona’s LaLiga season opener against Mallorca, while Rashford, who joined from Manchester United this summer, is also cleared to be part of the matchday squad. This means both new signings could debut in Barcelona’s next LaLiga game against Real Mallorca.

BARCELONA’S SEASON SO FAR

Barcelona’s last season was a success they will want to build on. They won La Liga, 4 points ahead of Real Madrid, as well as every other internal competition, having also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. Injuries, especially to first-choice goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, forced Barcelona to act quickly and sign García. Reports indicate that Rashford’s arrival is expected to improve their forward line, which struggled last season. Joan García played every league match for Espanyol last season, helping them avoid relegation, while Rashford scored 10 goals with Manchester United last season.

NEXT UP: BARCELONA VS REAL MALLORCA

Barcelona will face Real Mallorca tomorrow at home. A win is crucial to stay close to the top teams. Fans will be curious to see if García and Rashford start and if they can have an immediate impact in this important game.
