Marash Kumbulla Set to Join Mallorca from AS Roma
Marash Kumbulla is heading to Spain to sign for Mallorca on loan from AS Roma. The deal includes an option to buy for €8 million, giving both clubs flexibility for the future according to reports.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Albanian international will undergo a medical on Monday before signing with Mallorca. After struggling for game time at AS Roma, Kumbulla was seeking a new opportunity after failing to establish himself in the first team. Despite interest from Cagliari and Espanyol, the defender preferred a move to La Liga as confirmed in recent updates.
Mallorca’s management sees the 24-year-old center-back as an important addition to bolster their defense as reported.
MALLORCA’S SEASON SO FAR
Mallorca finished last season in 10th place, just below European places. In their first match of the new campaign, they lost 0-3 against reigning champions Barcelona, with 2 red cards given in the 1st half. Manager Pablo Machin is hopeful that Kumbulla’s arrival will strengthen the squad as they aim to stay clear of the relegation zone.
WHAT COMES NEXT FOR MALLORCA?
Mallorca will try to improve on yesterday’s performance and have a more positive result next time around to stay safe of relegation worries. They play Celta de Vigo next, where they will try to come out with a more positive result.
