André Silva Signs for Elche in €2.5 Million Deal From RB Leipzig

Portuguese striker André Silva has officially joined Elche CF in Spain. The La Liga side confirmed they signed Silva from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig for €1 million plus €1.5 million in potential bonuses. Elche has agreed with both the player and RB Leipzig for André Silva’s transfer, making it a significant move for the club as they seek to improve their attacking options.

TRANSFER DETAILS CONFIRMED

Elche finalized the signing of André Silva after negotiations with RB Leipzig, who accepted a €1 million fee and a possible €1.5 million in bonuses. Silva, 29, signed the contract on August 18, becoming Elche’s major attacking signing. He joined after a loan spell at Werder Bremen, where he struggled for form, and leaves Leipzig where he was under contract until 2026.

Silva has solid La Liga experience, having played for Sevilla and Real Sociedad, and is set to help Elche in their battle to stay in Spain’s top flight this season.

BUILDING FOR LA LIGA SURVIVAL

Elche, promoted after finishing second in the Segunda División last year, have set their goal for 2025/26 on survival. Last season, they showed defensive strength but struggled significantly to score, and are actively looking at ways of fixing the issues in Spain’s top tier. This summer, head coach Eder Sarabia signed six new players to refresh the squad, including Silva, who joins Álvaro Rodríguez and Mourad as the main forwards of the club, bringing in valuable international experience. Elche start the new campaign at home against Real Betis, a crucial match as they aim for early points to stay ahead of other promoted teams.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR SILVA AND ELCHE?

André Silva hopes to revive his career after scoring five goals in 26 appearances for RB Leipzig last season. His return to La Liga adds excitement, especially considering his work rate and the potential impact he could have on Elche’s performance. Elche play Real Betis next on August 18, and early points are vital for the club, who start with low expectations in the standings. For Elche, Silva’s goals could be the difference between safety and another drop to the Segunda. Fans hope he can start strong and lead the club’s attack as they settle back into top-flight football.
