Manchester United Say Joshua Zirkzee Won’t Leave This Summer

Manchester United have decided that Joshua Zirkzee will not be leaving the club in the summer window, ending speculation over his future.

UNITED BLOCK ZIRKZEE EXIT

The Manchester United board, alongside head coach Rúben Amorim, made it clear months ago that Joshua Zirkzee is not for sale this summer. Despite reports linking the Dutch forward with a move to several Italian clubs, including Juventus, there have been no talks or negotiations with any Italian team. Zirkzee, 24, joined Manchester United at the start of the 2024/25 season and remains an important part of the squad going forward.

SEASON SO FAR: TEAM AND PLAYER PERFORMANCE

This season has been challenging for Manchester United and their new coach Rúben Amorim. The Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League after a difficult campaign, and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham. The new season saw them lose the opener to Arsenal, although the team performed better than last season. Reports confirm that Zirkzee’s performances have drawn mixed reactions from fans and pundits alike, with four goals and two assists from his 26 league appearances so far. Despite that modest return, the club still views him as vital for their long-term plans. While Zirkzee missed the last month of the season through injury, the board’s stance on his future is unchanged.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR UNITED AND ZIRKZEE

With Manchester United’s summer transfer strategy now public, Joshua Zirkzee is set to stay and fight for his place under Amorim. The forward is expected to recover from injury in time for pre-season and will be given the opportunity to improve on his debut campaign. Manchester United’s next big game will be the Premier League opener against Fulham, following their previous defeat to Arsenal in which they lost 1-0. Expectations are high for United to finish higher in the table, and Zirkzee’s development may be key to achieving a return to the top four.
