Michael Olise Shines for Bayern Munich With Debut Bundesliga Goals

Michael Olise had a great start for Bayern Munich. He scored twice in his first Bundesliga game as the defending champions easily defeated RB Leipzig 6-0.

OLISE SPARKLES IN DOMINANT WIN

Olise had a dream debut, scoring his first goal in the 27th minute by hitting a loose ball into the corner after a fast attack. He scored again before halftime, calmly finishing after receiving the ball from Serge Gnabry. Olise played a central role, especially with Jamal Musiala injured. Luis Díaz also scored on his debut, while Harry Kane added a second-half hat-trick. Bayern were too strong for Leipzig, who couldn’t defend against their attack at the Allianz Arena.

BAYERN’S STRONG START SETS THE TONE

Bayern Munich began the 2025/26 season as defending champions, showing why they were the best last season, during which they won the league comfortably. As confirmed by recent reports, Bayern also won the German Super Cup, further establishing their dominance in German football this season. Olise, who joined from Crystal Palace, added creativity and speed to the team, and his two goals demonstrate his potential importance. Olise scored during a match where Bayern had over 70% possession, while Luis Díaz, who joined from Liverpool, also played well, scoring a goal and assisting twice. RB Leipzig, who finished seventh last season, struggled and didn’t score, despite manager Ole Werner’s attempts to make changes.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR BAYERN MUNICH?

Bayern Munich’s next game is against Augsburg who play Freiburg today after the DFB Pokal match against Wiesbaden. Currently, Bayern sits atop the Bundesliga after the opening round, with their goal difference making the difference. Bayern needs to maintain their form as Musiala recovers and as Olise and Díaz settle in. Leipzig will next face Heidenheim, hoping to recover from this defeat and move up from the bottom of the standings.
