AC Milan Move Closer To Signing Conrad Harder From Sporting CP
AC Milan are close to signing Conrad Harder from Sporting CP. The deal could be worth up to €27 million as talks advance.
WHAT HAPPENED?
AC Milan are making progress in signing Conrad Harder, Sporting CP’s striker from Denmark. Talks have gotten serious recently, with Milan offering €24 million plus €3 million in add-ons.
After meeting the player’s agent, Milan want to finalize the deal soon. Sporting and Harder also got a bid from French club Rennes, who need a striker after selling Arnaud Kalimuendo.
WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
AC Milan want Harder after a failed move for Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen. They decided not to sign him after medical issues. As per a previous update, AC Milan is finalizing a loan deal for Victor Boniface, which helps address weaknesses in Milan’s attack due to departures and injuries. Milan aim to strengthen their attack with two new centre-forwards.
Harder is their main choice, despite interest from clubs in France and England. This transfer isn’t related to Boniface, so Milan might still consider other forwards, like Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.
Harder scored 14 goals last season in the Primeira Liga, helping Sporting finish as winners.
WHAT COMES NEXT?
Milan, who lost their Serie A opener, needs more firepower after Leão’s injury, and will want to get a striker before the end of the transfer window, and preferably, before their next match against Lecce.
Sporting CP have won all league matches so far, and will have a tough test against Porto next weekend, who also have a perfect record thus far. They are strong contenders for the title. If Milan sign Harder, he will likely play soon, as head coach Massimiliano Allegri prepares for a league campaign aiming to reach the European spots. Milan hope new players help them win trophies this season.
