Hugo Ekitike Makes Flying Start With Liverpool

Hugo Ekitike has had an incredible start at Liverpool, scoring three goals in his first three games.

EKITIKE HITS THE GROUND RUNNING

The French striker joined Liverpool from Eintracht Frankfurt for a deal worth up to €95 million, which includes a fixed fee of €80 million plus add-ons. Ekitike, 23, came to Anfield after a great season in Germany, where he scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists in 48 matches. He debuted in the FA Community Shield against Crystal Palace, scoring just four minutes into his first official match for Liverpool. He scored again in the Premier League opener against Bournemouth in a 4–2 victory. After three matches, he has three goals and one assist, showing why Liverpool wanted him as confirmed by reports.

LIVERPOOL’S NEW-LOOK ATTACK

Manager Arne Slot made Ekitike a priority as Liverpool built a new team, also signing Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez. Ekitike leads a new era in attack, with Darwin Nunez moving to Saudi Arabia, Luis Diaz to Germany, and the tragic passing of Diogo Jota. Ekitike has quickly become important, fitting Slot’s style with his height, speed, and talent for both scoring and creating. Liverpool have started the Premier League season well, sitting close to the top of the table after their strong performances, including a victory against Bournemouth which marked their opener.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR EKITIKE AND LIVERPOOL?

Liverpool are getting ready to face Tottenham in their next Premier League game. Tottenham are another of three teams with a 100% winning start, having won at the Etihad against Manchester City and this match is a good test as both teams try to start the season strong. For Ekitike, more strong performances will help him become one of the Premier League’s top strikers. Liverpool fans are excited to see if their new signing keeps delivering goals and excitement.
