Jusef Erabi Faces Key Decision as Millwall and Genk Table €5M Offers
Jusef Erabi, one of Scandinavia’s brightest talents, is set to decide his future after receiving €5 million proposals from both Millwall and Genk. The 22-year-old Hammarby striker will now weigh his options between England’s Championship and Belgium’s top division.
WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH ERABI’S TRANSFER?
Both Millwall and KRC Genk have submitted offers worth €5 million to Hammarby for the Swedish forward. Erabi has become a standout player for Hammarby, scoring 29 goals in 93 games and earning the club’s Player of the Year award in 2023. He recently impressed in European competition as well.
The striker was not included in Hammarby’s squad last month as several teams, including clubs from Serie A and Ligue 1, tracked his progress. With his contract running until December 2026, this could be a key moment for Hammarby to cash in on their prized asset.
THE CURRENT SEASON FOR CLUBS INVOLVED
Millwall have started their 2025/26 Championship season trying to improve on last year’s mid-table finish. The team currently sits 14th after five games, three points outside the playoff spots and two above the relegation zone. Scoring goals remains a challenge, which is why adding Erabi could be a big boost to their attack.
Genk, meanwhile, are off to a strong start in Belgium, currently second in the Jupiler Pro League, just one point behind leaders Club Brugge after five matches. They remain unbeaten and have scored 11 goals so far, but are looking to strengthen their squad for a return to the Champions League qualifiers and to push for the title.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR ERABI, HAMMARBY AND SUITORS?
With transfer deadline day approaching, Erabi is expected to make a decision soon. Both clubs are pushing hard, and whoever signs him may look to give him a key role immediately. Hammarby, fighting for their first Allsvenskan title since 2001 and preparing to face Rosenborg in the UEFA Europa Conference League, may insist on a loan-back option until the end of the Swedish season to keep their attack intact a bit longer. Millwall’s next Championship match is against 10th-placed Bristol City, while Genk will play third-placed Union Saint-Gilloise in a top-of-the-table clash next week.
