Santiago Gimenez to Stay at AC Milan, Agent Confirms

Santiago Gimenez will not leave AC Milan this summer, according to a strong statement from his agent Rafaela Pimenta. All speculation surrounding his departure has been officially denied.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recent rumors suggested that Santiago Gimenez could be on the move after AC Milan‘s disappointing start to the new season. The Mexican striker’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, reacted quickly to dismiss those reports. She said, “Gimenez is not going to leave AC Milan. I can guarantee that reports are not true. He’s staying at the club.” Gimenez joined the Italian giants from Feyenoord in February on a contract lasting until June 2029. He wears the number 7 shirt and was brought in after scoring 65 goals in 105 matches for the Dutch club. Gimenez has also made 32 appearances for the Mexican national team, scoring four goals in international play.

AC MILAN’S SITUATION THIS SEASON

AC Milan have struggled at the start of the 2025/26 Serie A campaign. Last weekend, they suffered a 1-2 home defeat against Cremonese, increasing pressure on both the squad and management. The team currently sit 12th in the league, far below expectations. Attacking problems have appeared especially with the injury of Leão, who was playing as a striker during preseason, with Gimenez unable to find his best form so far. He has scored just one goal in four appearances since the season began. Other strikers, including Victor Boniface, were rumored targets, but AC Milan decided not to sign Boniface after his medicals raised concerns about his knees. Nevertheless, there are now discussions about further reinforcements, such as Conrad Harder from Sporting Portugal.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR GIMENEZ AND MILAN?

AC Milan face a crucial league fixture next, meeting Lecce in a match that the team should win to keep ambitions of qualifying for Europe alive. Lecce are one of the weaker teams in the league, and a candidate to be relegated, making this match important for both teams. Milan must improve quickly to close the gap to the European spots and recover from their recent poor form. The club’s leadership is watching the attack closely, but Gimenez will remain a central figure as they seek solutions. With the agent’s statement putting rumors to rest, the focus shifts to regaining form and climbing the table.
