Nottingham Forest Reject West Ham’s Loan Offer for Ibrahim Sangaré

Nottingham Forest have turned down West Ham United’s loan offer for Ibrahim Sangaré. They want stricter deal terms as the transfer window is almost closing.

WHAT HAPPENED?

West Ham tried to get Sangaré on loan with a buy option. But Nottingham Forest want either a big permanent transfer fee or a loan deal with a guaranteed buy later.

For Forest, Sangaré is important with the tough Premier League season and possible Conference League matches coming up. He remains valuable despite last season’s injury problems because of his earlier performances at PSV and his strong midfield presence.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Nottingham Forest had a tough Premier League start, sitting 5th with four points from two games. Sangaré, 27, played in each game, providing needed midfield stability. His £30 million price tag hasn’t changed Forest’s determination to keep a strong squad for coach Nuno Espírito Santo. It is worth noting that last season, Nottingham Forest finished 7th in the Premier League, qualifying for the UEFA Conference League, highlighting their ambitions to continue competing at a high level this season.

Meanwhile, West Ham need midfielders after losing Edson Alvarez to Fenerbahce on loan. They are almost signing Soungoutou Magassa from AS Monaco. The Hammers, in last place of the Premier League, want to strengthen Graham Potter’s midfield.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR FOREST AND WEST HAM?

Forest play West Ham next, with both teams involved in the deal facing each other on the pitch. West Ham desperately need a win otherwise the coach’s place will be at risk, and Nottingham will want to keep the good start of the season and win the three points.

Without West Ham meeting Forest’s demands, Sangaré will stay at the City Ground for now.
