Strasbourg Confirm Double Signing Of Martial Godo And Julio Enciso

Strasbourg have signed Martial Godo from Fulham and Julio Enciso from Brighton. Both young wingers join to strengthen the squad for the Ligue 1 and European campaigns.

BOTH PLAYERS LAND IN FRANCE AS STRASBOURG EXPAND SQUAD

Strasbourg announced Martial Godo’s arrival from Fulham on a five-year contract after paying over €7 million. Godo, 22, had limited chances in the Premier League, making eight appearances for Fulham, and scoring two goals last season. Meanwhile, Julio Enciso joins from Brighton for a package worth €20 million on a five-year deal. The 21-year-old winger’s departure was confirmed after he skipped Brighton’s final game before the international break. Enciso scored four goals and made four assists in 19 appearances for Brighton last season. Martial Godo and Julio Enciso will look to make an immediate impact in Ligue 1.

STRASBOURG’S BUSY TRANSFER WINDOW REFLECTS HIGH AMBITION

This summer has seen Strasbourg sign 12 new players, spending around €117 million in total. The club’s new owners, BlueCo, are building a team with young talents and potential future stars. Strasbourg will also compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season, marking a return to European football. Last season, Strasbourg finished 7th in Ligue 1. Strasbourg’s significant investments signal plans to challenge for the league title and progress in Europe. Martial Godo and Julio Enciso’s arrivals highlight this ambition, adding attacking options after increasing speculation regarding Youcef Hamendi’s future at the club.

LOOKING FORWARD: STRASBOURG’S SEASON AHEAD

Strasbourg start the new Ligue 1 campaign as they look to reduce Lyon and PSG’s three-point lead at the top of the table. Their next league match is against Le Havre, who have only won one point from three matches this season. Strasbourg will aim for an important home win to stay competitive in the league. Martial Godo and Julio Enciso are expected to play significant game time as Strasbourg take on a busy first half of the season.
