Strasbourg Sign Martial Godo and Julio Enciso in Late Transfer Moves

RC Strasbourg Alsace have signed Martial Godo from Fulham and Julio Enciso from Brighton in last-minute transfer moves. Both players have signed long-term deals with Strasbourg, who are getting ready for the new Ligue 1 season and a return to European competition.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Martial Godo, a 22-year-old winger, has left Fulham after making just six first-team appearances. He has signed a five-year deal with Strasbourg, as reported. Godo spent last season on loan at Wigan in League One, where he scored four goals and provided four assists.

Julio Enciso, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, has joined Strasbourg from Brighton on a four-year contract that will keep him with the BlueLoft-owned club until 2029. Enciso made sporadic appearances in last season’s Premier League campaign due to injury but is seen as a major attacking threat when fit. His move is part of a package reportedly worth €20 million. Godo arrived in Strasbourg accompanied by his agent and family, while Enciso travelled with his girlfriend and his lawyer-agent Rodrigo Codas.

STRASBOURG’S BUSY SUMMER AND TARGETS

These moves are the final pieces of the puzzle for Strasbourg, who have been very active in the transfer market and brought in nearly 15 new players this summer. The club is aiming to improve on last season’s mid-table finish and challenge for a top-half place. Strasbourg finished 12th in Ligue 1 in 2024/25; however, a strong cup run last season saw them qualify for the Europa Conference League play-offs, which is a new opportunity for them on the European stage.

With their first European campaign in three years, Strasbourg is determined to boost an attack that last season struggled for consistency. They aim to improve on their 7th place finish in Ligue 1 last season and qualify for European competitions once again.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR STRASBOURG AND THE NEW SIGNINGS?

Strasbourg face Stade Rennais in Ligue 1 on Sunday, before their Europa Conference League play-off first leg against Besiktas next Thursday. The BlueLoft Rangers will then host AJ Auxerre at the Stade de la Meinau in the Coupe de France on Sunday, September 17.
