Samu Chukwueze Seals Fulham Move on Loan From AC Milan
Fulham have agreed to sign Nigerian winger Samu Chukwueze from AC Milan on loan. They have an option to buy him, and the deal could be worth over €25 million if they decide to keep him, as reported recently.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Chukwueze completed his medical and is ready to join Fulham on a season-long loan. The 25-year-old has an option for Fulham to buy him outright at the end of the deal, but the clause is not mandatory. The total value of the deal could go above €25 million including add-ons, a package that Fulham have discussed with AC Milan. Chukwueze struggled for regular starts at Milan, scoring eight goals in 69 appearances since joining in summer 2023, after impressing in La Liga with Villarreal.
FULHAM’S SEASON SO FAR
This transfer window has been quiet for Fulham. Prior to deadline day, goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte arrived on a free transfer from Monaco, and that was their only piece of incoming business. Andreas Pereira joined Palmeiras and Carlos Vinícius left for Benfica on free transfers. Fulham are currently 18th in the Premier League, having earned just two points from three games, so Chukwueze’s arrival will serve as a vital boost, especially considering they have struggled in attack, scoring just four goals in that span.
LOOKING AHEAD: WHAT NEXT FOR TEAM AND PLAYER?
Fulham host Leeds United next in the Premier League, facing a side mid-table and just ahead of them. A win could see Fulham leapfrog them and gain momentum. Chukwueze is expected to go straight into the squad and compete with Harry Wilson and Bobby Decordova-Reid for a starting spot on the wing. With his dribbling skill and pace, he could become a key weapon for manager Marco Silva as Fulham aim to climb away from the relegation places and finish higher up the table.
