Presnel Kimpembé Ends 20-Year PSG Stay to Join Qatar SC

Presnel Kimpembé has signed with Qatar SC, ending his 20-year run at Paris Saint-Germain. The World Cup winner is moving to the Qatar Stars League to start fresh after injuries in Paris.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Kimpembé played 241 games for PSG but is now leaving to join Qatar SC. He wasn’t picked for PSG’s Champions League team and only played 76 minutes over five games last season because of injuries. Qatar SC is second in the league and wants Kimpembé to help improve their defense as they chase leaders Al Sadd.

KIMPEMBÉ’S JOURNEY AT PSG

Kimpembé joined PSG’s academy as a kid and became an important part of their defense, helping the team win many Ligue 1 titles and have successful Champions League runs. However, after his injury, he wasn’t favored by coach Luis Enrique and was left out of key squads. Earlier this summer, he had rejected a move to AC Milan before choosing Qatar SC. During his PSG career, he played 241 games and was known for his strong defense, leadership, and determination.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR KIMPEMBÉ AND BOTH CLUBS?

Kimpembé will aim to find form and play regularly as Qatar SC faces Umm Salal next in the league. They are two points behind the leaders Al Sadd and one point ahead of Al Wakrah and Al Duhail. Each game is important in their title chase. Meanwhile, PSG is currently first in Ligue 1 this season, as confirmed by recent reports, and their next match is against seventh-placed Lyon. They are four points ahead of Monaco and two points ahead of Marseille. Both teams hope Kimpembé’s transfer will give them the boost they need to compete this season.
