Westerlo Reach Agreement For Juventus Fullback Jonas Rouhi
Belgian team Westerlo have agreed with Juventus to sign left-back Jonas Rouhi. It’s a loan deal with an option to buy. The 21-year-old Swedish defender will have a medical check before joining Westerlo. The two clubs agreed on a deal that includes a loan with an obligation to buy, with the total fee expected to be around €40 million.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Jonas Rouhi will leave Juventus to join Westerlo for the 2025/26 season. The deal is a loan with an option to buy him next year. Rouhi played six times for Juventus last season but wasn’t expected to play much this season. So, he decided to develop his skills at another club. He just needs to pass a medical test and sign the contract.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Westerlo finished eleventh in the Belgian Pro League last season. They started slowly this year with only one win in six matches. The team is close to the bottom and needs to improve. Jonas Rouhi has experience from playing with Juventus in Serie A and the Champions League. He can bring energy and skill to help Westerlo’s defense.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR WESTERLO AND ROUHI?
Westerlo’s next game is against STVV, who are top of the league, level on points with USG. It’s a tough match, but the team wants to improve their position. Jonas Rouhi will try to adjust quickly and get playing time. If he performs well, Westerlo might use the buy option to keep him. Juventus will be watching to see if Rouhi becomes a top-level left-back.
