Yacine Adli Set to Leave AC Milan for Al Shabab

AC Milan’s Yacine Adli is close to joining Al Shabab. The deal could reach €8 million, and he’d sign until 2028. Adli will have a medical soon to finalize it.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Adli‘s transfer is nearly done after a full agreement between Milan and Al Shabab. The deal is worth around €8 million, including add-ons. He’ll sign until June 2028 and head to Saudi Arabia for a medical exam. His new salary is around €7 million a season, three times his Milan wages. It’s a tough summer for Adli. He missed Milan’s first team in preseason and didn’t fit the new coach’s plans post-loan at Fiorentina.

WHERE ADLI AND MILAN STAND

Adli returned to Milan after a loan at Fiorentina. He made 27 Serie A appearances (mostly as a sub) and scored once. Fiorentina didn’t use their purchase option. New Milan manager Allegri excluded Adli from his plans. Adli now trains with Milan Futuro, the reserve group. Milan currently sit 8th in the Serie A league after two games, three points behind the league leaders. Milan’s next opponent is Bologna, who won the Coppa Italia and finished just one spot behind the Rossoneri last season. It’s a key match in the early standings.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR AL SHABAB

Al Shabab hopes Adli will boost their midfield quality and experience. They want to improve in the Saudi Pro League. Last season, they ended mid-table. They’re currently eighth after six rounds, six points behind Al Hilal, the leaders, and three points above the relegation zone. Their next match is against Al Ettifaq, who are sixth and just two points ahead. Adli’s debut could be crucial in a close mid-table fight. The transfer window closes on September 11, so both clubs are rushing to finalize the deal for registration.
