Bellingham And Camavinga Give Real Madrid Fitness Boost Ahead Of Marseille Clash

Real Madrid got great news as Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga returned after recent injuries. Both players are in the squad for the Champions League game against Olympique Marseille.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Bellingham missed games due to shoulder surgery, which he struggled with for over a year. He missed preseason and the start of La Liga, with a long recovery period that kept him from training fully for many weeks. On Monday, Real Madrid confirmed he was back at Valdebebas, training with the team before the Marseille game. Camavinga, out with an ankle injury since September, also returned. However, neither player is fully match-fit yet. Bellingham is still gaining strength after surgery, and Camavinga just started group training after weeks of individual rehab. Reports suggest that Xabi Alonso is hopeful Bellingham will return to full fitness in the near future.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Real Madrid started the season well, winning both opening La Liga games against Osasuna (3-1) and Real Sociedad (2-1). According to recent updates, Real Madrid won 2-1 at Real Sociedad, even though they played with ten men from the 32nd minute. They are currently top in La Liga, just ahead of Barcelona, and are looking to maintain their perfect record, having won all their matches so far. Bellingham is a key player for Real Madrid, scoring 19 goals and providing 8 assists last season in all competitions. His return brings strength to a team aiming for European and domestic glory. Camavinga, usually a strong midfielder and versatile player, will strengthen options for coach Xabi Alonso.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Real Madrid play Olympique Marseille on Tuesday night in their Champions League opener. Marseille finished second in Ligue 1 last season but have struggled early this season, currently sitting 7th in the French league. A recent report confirms that Real Madrid has won all their matches so far this season, placing them at the top of La Liga with four wins in four matches. Their next Spanish league game is against Espanyol, who sit 6th, making every game important to stay near the top.
