Nico Jackson Focused On Bayern Munich Future Amid Talk Of 2026 Contract

Nico Jackson is committed to Bayern Munich and aims to give his best this season. He recently expressed a wish to stay beyond this season if everyone is happy, but he is concentrating on performing well now.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Nico Jackson joined Bayern Munich from Chelsea on a loan deal in September 2025. Bayern paid Chelsea a €15 million loan fee, bringing Chelsea’s total to €16.5 million for the loan. Bayern can sign him permanently for €65 million if Jackson starts at least 40 games this season. The 24-year-old striker has already debuted for the team and is competing with star forward Harry Kane. Bayern started the Bundesliga strong this year, currently sitting first in the standings with nine points from three matches, and are already ahead of rivals like Dortmund and Frankfurt at the top of the league as they aim to regain the Bundesliga title.

JACKSON’S IMPACT AND TEAM PERFORMANCE

Jackson joined after a tough transfer saga, with Chelsea hesitant to let him go due to injuries among their attackers. Now at Bayern, Jackson wants to adapt fast to the Bundesliga and prove the club’s trust in him was right. So far this season, he has yet to score and assist for Bayern after leaving Chelsea, where he scored 12 goals and provided six assists in the previous campaign. Bayern are pushing for their 2nd consecutive Bundesliga title and have started the league with several wins, facing strong competition from Dortmund and Leverkusen. Their next match is against Hoffenheim, who are currently sixth in the league, while Bayern lead the table by two points over Dortmund and four over Leverkusen.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR JACKSON AND BAYERN?

Jackson’s future at Bayern beyond this season remains uncertain. If he starts the necessary 40 games, Bayern must acquire him for €65 million. Given Harry Kane’s role as the main striker and tough competition for starting spots, this target will be challenging to achieve. Bayern’s immediate aim is to maintain their strong league form and progress in the Champions League, where they are among the favorites as they aim to navigate the tournament successfully after announcing they will halt permanent signings this season. Jackson will need to make a significant impact in the coming months to secure a long-term stay at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
