WHAT HAPPENED?
Manchester City have been drawn against Nottingham Forest in the Emirates FA Cup semi-final, to be played at Wembley Stadium on the weekend of April 26-27, 2025. City secured their place in the semi-finals with a 2-1 comeback victory over AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush that joined the citizens in the January transfer window.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
This marks Manchester City’s seventh consecutive FA Cup semi-final appearance, extending their record run. Pep Guardiola described this achievement as “unbelievable” and praised his players as “legendary”. However, the coach did play with some changes in the starting 11, indicating that the goal is to get a better position in the Premier League, where Manchester City are far from the Top-2, with Liverpool on top and Arsenal following 12 points behind. City, who were runners-up in last season’s final, will try to capture their third FA Cup title under Guardiola’s coaching, having previously won the trophy in 2019 and 2023.
WHAT NEXT?
