Hansi Flick has confirmed that he rejected a move from FC Barcelona defender Eric Garcia to join Serie A side Como.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The German coach reportedly prevented the Italian club from finalizing the defender’s transfer during the winter transfer window, despite Garcia’s interest in leaving.

Flick intervened, asking Garcia to remain at Camp Nou due to injuries in Barcelona’s defensive lineup and his importance to the squad. Flick told reporters: “Eric had an offer from another club in winter and he wanted to go, but I told him that I need him. He did a magnificent job when he needed to play.
