Liverpool player Mohamed Salah has made history by setting a new record for the most combined goals and assists in a Premier League season. Salah now has 45, breaking the old record of 44. Salah has shown again why he is one of the best players in the history of the Premier League.

WHAT HAPPENED?

When Liverpool played West Ham at Anfield, Salah had the assist on the first goal. He is now the player with the most goals and assists in a single Premier League season. Salah beat the old record of 44, which was set by legendary player Thierry Henry in 2002-03 and matched by Erling Haaland of Manchester City. Salah has 27 goals and 18 assists so far this season. This record came just two days after Salah signed a new deal to stay with Liverpool.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Salah has been a game-changer for Liverpool. He has 1.44 goal contributions per 90 minutes, which shows how important he is for the club’s attack. Two more assists from Salah would tie the record for most assists in a single season, which is currently 20 and is held by Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
He has been very helpful to Liverpool in a hard season. The team hasn’t done as well as they’d hoped, but Salah’s success has kept them in the running for a spot in the Champions League and the PL title seems almost guaranteed. Arne Slot’s Reds have their fate in their own hands because of Salah’s steady play.

WHAT’S NEXT?

In the remaining six Premier League games, Salah can improve on his impressive record. Liverpool’s next match is against Leicester City away from home, and they’ll want to get ready for European competition. Salah’s future with the club is bright because he signed a new contract. Liverpool will build their team around the forward as they try to win another Premier League title.
