Manchester United Say Bruno Fernandes Is Not for Sale as Al Hilal, PSG Circle
Manchester United do not want to sell Bruno Fernandes amid interest from Saudi team Al Hilal, who have reportedly made a bid worth £65 million-a-year for the Portuguese star.
What happened?
Ruben Amorim addressed rumours surrounding Fernandes’ departure in his pre-match press conference. The Daily Mail had reported Al Hilal had ramped up their pursuit of the Manchester United captain, tabling a huge bid totalling £65m in annual wages, a total of £18.7m more than he is paid currently, to entice the 29-year-old.
Amorim said: “I feel as though there’s always speculation around Manchester United players and Al Hilal, or PSG or other clubs but our goal is to keep our best players. Bruno is our captain, he’s not for sale and he will be with us for many years.”
What does it mean?
Fernandes has performed admirably for the Red Devils over the past few games, without scoring or assisting. That all changed against Wolverhampton Wanderers as he scored twice in the first half to give his side a comfortable lead and set them on the way to boosting their European hopes. Fernandes has been a standout performer for United ever since he joined the club back in 2020. His manager believes he will remain a Red Devil, with the cluub reportedly wanting double what Al Hilal have offered.
