Bradley Signs New Long-Term Deal With Liverpool
Conor Bradley has signed a new deal to stay at Liverpool until June 2029. The 21-year-old defender has committed his long-term future to the Reds after becoming an important part of the first-team squad and as the team looks at better performances in more than one competition for next season.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Liverpool announced on Saturday, May 17, 2025, that Bradley has signed a new contract with the club. The Northern Ireland international’s deal will run until June 2029, a major commitment from both the club and player. He joined Liverpool from Dungannon United in September 2019 and has been steady through the ranks to become an important member of the first team.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Bradley’s new deal comes at the perfect time for Liverpool as the club prepares for life without Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will leave at the end of the season to join Real Madrid on a free transfer. Bradley has made 27 appearances for the Reds this season and is expected to feature more prominently in the coming seasons under manager Arne Slot. His development has been impressive since making his senior debut in a Carabao Cup tie against Norwich City in September 2021 and getting more and more playing time in the seasons since.
Despite Bradley’s emergence, Liverpool are preparing to activate the €35 million release clause of Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong, suggesting that the pair will be competing for the right-back position next season. Despite Alexander-Arnold’s exit, the club want to maintain strong squad depth in that area, and are ready to pay big money to achieve that goal.
BRADLEY’S JOURNEY AT LIVERPOOL
Bradley’s rise at Liverpool has been steady. After signing his first professional contract in July 2020, the 21-year-old gained valuable experience during a loan spell at Bolton Wanderers in the 2022-23 season, where he was named both Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year, while also lifting the EFL Trophy at Wembley. Upon returning to Liverpool, he scored his first goal for the club against Chelsea in 2024, and collected a medals in the Carabao Cup final against the same opponents a month later.
WHAT BRADLEY SAID
Speaking about his new contract, Bradley said: “To sign another contract, I’m very proud and happy to see what the next steps on our journey together will be. Hopefully we can win a lot of trophies.” The defender has made it clear that his ambition is to “win more trophies” with Liverpool, and has vowed to build on the success he has already achieved there.
WHAT NEXT FOR LIVERPOOL?
With Bradley’s future secured, Liverpool’s focus will now turn to strengthening other areas across the squad during the summer transfer window. The club’s most pressing concern is to find a suitable replacement for Alexander-Arnold’s creative output, with Frimpong emerging as the leading candidate. With Liverpool once again expected to compete for trophies across all competitions next season, the club will need a strong squad to be able to achieve their goals.
