Luis Campos Signs New Long-Term Deal With PSG Until 2030
Luis Campos has extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2030. He will stay with the French champions for the next five years. Campos, a highly-rated sporting advisor, is happy to continue his work with Qatar Sports Investments (QSI).
WHAT HAPPENED?
PSG announced that Campos signed a new contract to stay with them until 2030. Campos joined PSG in June 2022 on a three-year contract. Now, he will continue to lead the sporting strategy for PSG. The Portuguese sporting director will also have more responsibilities with Qatar Sports Investments. He will manage sporting needs across QSI’s whole group of clubs and sports investments.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Since joining PSG in 2022, Campos has played a key role in the club’s success in French and European competitions. Under his leadership, PSG has won three Ligue 1 titles, one Coupe de France, and three Trophée des Champions titles. The club has also made progress in the UEFA Champions League, reaching the final, semifinal, and round of 16 over the past three seasons.
PSG is currently leading Ligue 1 by 11 points over second-placed Marseille, with only three games left in the 2024-25 season. The team is preparing for an important Champions League semifinal second leg next week, aiming to reach their second final in four years.
CAMPOS’ REACTION
“I am delighted to continue my story with QSI to 2030. I very much look forward to writing more history at QSI in the coming years,” Campos said after signing his new contract. He is committed to PSG’s long-term sporting project and supports their recruitment strategy and youth development plans.
EXPANDED RESPONSIBILITIES
Alongside his role with PSG, Campos will continue to give strategic advice to other QSI-owned clubs, like Portuguese team SC Braga. His expertise has helped Braga succeed in both local and European matches. Campos will also work on finding talented players and exploring new football and sports investment possibilities for QSI.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR PSG?
PSG is set to play Monaco this weekend in a Ligue 1 match. A win would almost guarantee their fourth consecutive league title. They only need three more points to confirm their place at the top of the table, especially because of their large goal difference advantage over their rivals.
After this league match, PSG will focus on next Tuesday’s Champions League semifinal second leg against Bayern Munich. The tie is even after a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Germany. PSG aims to reach the final and potentially win their first-ever Champions League trophy.
