Mahamadou Sangare Set to Join Manchester City from PSG

Manchester City are about to sign 18-year-old striker Mahamadou Sangare. Sangare will have a medical check and then join on a long-term contract. He is leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Sangare is an 18-year-old French striker. His contract with PSG ended, and he is moving to Manchester City. He will sign a long-term contract with the Premier League champions and start in their academy. Sangare did well at PSG’s youth level, scoring 42 goals in 46 games. This includes nine goals in 11 UEFA Youth League matches. Despite his good form, he did not play for PSG’s senior team. Now, he is taking the next step in his career with City. City have beaten other top clubs to his signature.

MANCHESTER CITY’S YOUTH STRATEGY

This signing is part of Manchester City’s plan to get and develop the best young talents in Europe and beyond. The club’s academy is one of the top in English football. The Under-21s recently came first in Premier League 2, and the Under-18s are also fighting for top honors. First-team strikers like Erling Haaland mean Sangare will spend at least a season in City’s youth and development squads. He will get used to English football and the club’s style. City can also loan him to other clubs in the City Football Group network. This includes teams in Spain, France, and Italy, giving him more senior experience.

WHAT NEXT FOR CLUB AND PLAYER

Sangare’s main focus now will be settling into City’s academy and improving his skills. Manchester City have had another strong season, securing their spot as Premier League champions for the 2024/25 campaign. Their next game is against Liverpool, who are second, and City have a six-point lead at the top. Sangare will aim to impress in youth competitions and maybe join first-team training in the future. For now, he needs to develop and adjust to City’s high standards. The club will watch his progress closely for potential senior chances in the future.
