Al Hilal Close to Hiring Simone Inzaghi as New Head Coach

Al Hilal are confident they will soon hire Simone Inzaghi as their next head coach. They expect a decision from the Inter Milan manager in the next 24 to 48 hours.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Inzaghi recently led Inter Milan to the Champions League final, where they lost 5-0 to Paris Saint-Germain. Now, he has to decide about his future. Al Hilal have offered him a big contract worth about €30 million a year. They are hopeful he will agree soon.

Inter Milan want to keep their coach, who has a contract until 2026. They have planned a meeting with him to discuss his and the club’s future. Despite Inter’s wish to keep him, Al Hilal’s offer and the chance to sign top players are hard to refuse for the Italian manager.

BIG PICTURE

Inter Milan won the Serie A, but lost badly in the Champions League final. Inzaghi has been at Inter for four years. He helped them reach two Champions League finals in three seasons. But he is frustrated with the limited funds for players, even though the club has sold players for a lot of money.

For Al Hilal, hiring a coach like Inzaghi would help them become a global team. Last season, they dominated the Saudi Pro League and reached the Asian Champions League final. Now, they are eyeing top players like Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes as they prepare for the Club World Cup next month.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

Both clubs will face an important 48 hours. Inzaghi will meet with Inter’s leadership. He will compare the Italian champions’ plans with Al Hilal’s goals and financial offer. If he accepts Al Hilal’s offer, Inter might consider other candidates, such as Cesc Fabregas, who could be interested in the role, depending on his situation at Como.

Al Hilal hope Inzaghi’s arrival will help them compete with the world’s best at the Club World Cup. Inter’s future plans, including the chance to improve the team for another title defense, depend on their manager’s final decision.
