Inter Milan Finalizes Luis Henrique Signing from Marseille
Inter Milan has completed the signing of Luis Henrique from Marseille. The 23-year-old Brazilian has signed the documents for his €25 million move to the Italian club.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The transfer between Inter Milan and Marseille for Luis Henrique is done. The clubs agreed on a €25 million deal after weeks of talks. Presidents Marotta of Inter and Longoria of Marseille finally agreed on the payment last week. Now, Henrique has signed a five-year contract to stay at San Siro until 2030.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Luis Henrique is Inter’s second signing of the summer. They already bought Luka Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb. Henrique had a breakout season at Marseille, scoring 9 goals and 10 assists. Over his career with the French club, he has 11 goals and 16 assists in 108 games since joining in 2020.
Inter, Serie A runners-up, plans to strengthen their team for the FIFA Club World Cup. They have more money to spend this summer thanks to their deep Champions League run.
WHAT ROLE WILL HENRIQUE PLAY?
In Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation, Luis Henrique is likely to be a backup to Denzel Dumfries at right wing-back. The Brazilian can also play on either wing, providing depth in attack. His arrival allows Matteo Darmian and Nicola Zalewski to play in other positions.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR INTER?
With Henrique signed, Inter Milan will now work to integrate him into the team as they prepare for the FIFA Club World Cup. The club’s transfer window is still open, with Ange-Yoan Bonny reported as the next target. Inter has already spent €37 million on players this summer, showing their intent to compete in Italy and Europe next season.
