Liverpool Close to Sealing £40m Move for Milos Kerkez

Liverpool are about to sign left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. The Hungarian international completed his medical tests at Anfield on Monday.

MEDICAL COMPLETED AHEAD OF SIGNING

Milos Kerkez arrived on Merseyside on Monday and began his medical checks before his £40 million transfer from Bournemouth. The 21-year-old defender is expected to sign his contract soon, becoming Liverpool‘s fourth signing of the summer.

Kerkez impressed last season at Bournemouth, playing 38 Premier League matches. He scored two goals and provided five assists, making him a target for head coach Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes, who brought him to Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.

KERKEZ BOLSTERS LIVERPOOL’S DEFENCE

Liverpool want to add depth and competition at left-back, and Kerkez’s arrival will challenge Andy Robertson. The signing follows the club’s move to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, with Jeremie Frimpong joining the squad after Alexander-Arnold’s departure.

According to a previous report we published, Liverpool signed Florian Wirtz on a five-year contract.

Last season, Liverpool won the league by a distance, but failed to be competitive in any other competition it played in, having early exits in the FA Cup and Champions League. Bournemouth have already moved to replace Kerkez, signing Adrien Truffert from Rennes.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR LIVERPOOL AND KERKEZ?

Kerkez is expected to join the Liverpool squad for pre-season training ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Liverpool kick off their season with the Community Shield match against Crystal Palace who won last year’s FA Cup defeating Manchester City in the final.

Liverpool aim to win back-to-back titles, and Kerkez’s energy and performances could help them challenge for the title under Arne Slot.
