Adrien Truffert Arrives in England to Complete Bournemouth Move

Adrien Truffert has arrived in England with his agent to finalize his transfer to AFC Bournemouth from Rennes. The French left-back is set to sign a five-year contract, with Bournemouth paying a €13.5 million fee plus €3.5 million in add-ons and a 10% sell-on clause to Rennes.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Truffert and his agent, Bembi Vungbote, will complete the transfer soon. All major details are decided. The 23-year-old will join Andoni Iraola’s team as a direct replacement for Milos Kerkez, who is reportedly joining Liverpool. Truffert was Bournemouth‘s number one target and will commit to a contract through 2030.

Rennes and Bournemouth already agreed on an overall €17 million fee with bonuses. Bournemouth needed a new left-back after an impressive season from Milos Kerkez, who logged two goals and six assists in 38 Premier League matches to help the club record a top-half finish. Truffert had other bids on the market but wanted to join Bournemouth.

THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT

Truffert was keen on a Premier League move and had made up his mind to join Bournemouth despite offers from other clubs. He will fit the club’s style and Lille’s Nuno Tavares was a backup option if their move for Truffert hit the skids.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Truffert will join Bournemouth and link up with Iraola’s squad for pre-season next week. Some international players are still away on holiday after the international break earlier in June.
