Atalanta Close In on Kamaldeen Sulemana with New €17M Bid

Atalanta are getting closer to signing Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton. They have submitted a new bid worth almost €17 million for the Ghanaian winger. The clubs are in advanced talks, and the transfer may soon be completed.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Atalanta‘s first bid of €14 million was rejected, but they have returned with a higher offer to secure Sulemana before the 2025-26 Serie A season begins. The 23-year-old played 26 Premier League games last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Southampton finished bottom of the table with just 12 points from 38 matches.

WHY ATALANTA WANT SULEMANA

Sulemana is seen as a key addition for new head coach Ivan Juric, who briefly worked with him at Southampton last season before Gian Piero Gasperini left for AS Roma. Sulemana had his most consistent run of games under Juric, including a memorable performance at Old Trafford against Manchester United in the FA Cup. The player is expected to sign a contract running until 2029, with an option for an additional year.
