Napoli Near Noa Lang Signing After Breakthrough Talks With PSV

Napoli are close to agreeing a deal with PSV Eindhoven for Dutch winger Noa Lang after successful talks between the clubs this week. Lang has agreed personal terms with Napoli and the deal could be completed imminently.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Napoli held direct talks with PSV Eindhoven and are preparing to sign Noa Lang for an initial fee of around €25 million plus up to €5 million in add-ons. Sources indicate that Lang, 26, has agreed to a five-year deal with Napoli that would earn him €2.5 million per season. In two seasons with PSV, Lang scored 19 goals and delivered 14 assists in 63 appearances, including 11 goals and 10 assists in the 2024-25 Eredivisie campaign.

NAPOLI’S TRANSFER STRATEGY AND TEAM OUTLOOK

Napoli’s transfer marks Napoli’s first major attacking reinforcement of the summer as the club prepares for their return to the Champions League. Napoli have already added key players such as Kevin De Bruyne and Luca Marianucci. Last season, Napoli won the Serie A and is trying to retain the title this season. Strengthening the attack has become a priority as the gap to the league’s top three – Inter, Juventus and Napoli – remain narrow. PSV, who won the Eredivisie, will now lose one of their best attackers following a campaign in which Lang was a driving force in their title challenge.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The final agreement between Napoli and PSV could be reached imminently with only small details to be ironed out. Lang would become the latest addition under new Napoli manager Antonio Conte, and could be unveiled, if all goes to plan, before the first pre-season starts. Napoli’s first match of the 2025-26 Serie A season is set to be in August. Napoli are looking to close the gap to Serie A’s leading clubs and make a strong return to European competition as they try to make a deep run in the Champions League. For PSV, finding Lang’s replacement will be vital if they are to build on last season and challenge Ajax and Feyenoord for the Eredivisie crown once again.
