FC Copenhagen Secure Youssoufa Moukoko in €5 Million Transfer from Borussia Dortmund
FC Copenhagen are set to sign striker Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund. Medical tests are scheduled for Friday, and a transfer fee exceeding €5 million has been agreed between the clubs.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Danish champions have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Youssoufa Moukoko. The 20-year-old, who spent last season on loan at OGC Nice, is expected to complete his medical on Friday. Both player and club have finalized terms, and only final formalities remain. Moukoko, who has one year left on his Dortmund contract, struggled for regular minutes in France, scoring just two goals in 22 appearances last season. His move to Copenhagen marks a significant shift as he looks to revive his career with more consistent playing time.
According to a previous report, Moukoko has accepted the transfer to FC Copenhagen.
MOUSOKO’S JOURNEY SO FAR
Moukoko was once seen as one of Germany’s top young talents, breaking into Dortmund’s senior squad at a young age. However, after limited opportunities and a disappointing loan spell at Nice, his market value dropped sharply. At Dortmund, he scored 18 goals in 99 matches and made two senior appearances for Germany. Last season, he netted 5 goals in 23 matches across all competitions. Copenhagen aim to bolster their squad with this signing.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR COPENHAGEN?
Copenhagen recently won the Superliga and are preparing for the Champions League. The addition of Moukoko adds power to their frontline, especially as they prepare to battle rivals like FC Midtjylland and Brøndby, who finished just behind them last season.
Copenhagen won the Danish Superliga title last season.
